Seoul, August 26 - GS Engineering & Construction (GS E&C) announced that it has adopted ChatGPT Enterprise, OpenAI’s enterprise-grade generative AI platform, as part of its digital transformation strategy.
According to the company, data security was the decisive factor behind the move. By leveraging ChatGPT Enterprise’s enhanced security features and administrative controls, GS E&C can now deploy AI solutions without concerns over internal document exposure or sensitive data leaks.
GS E&C plans to collaborate closely with OpenAI to identify effective internal use cases and provide hands-on training for employees, with particular focus on applications in construction field operations.
To mark the rollout, the company hosted a workshop on August 21 at its Grand Seoul headquarters in Jongno-gu, joined by representatives from OpenAI. The event explored ways to improve productivity and streamline operations through generative AI. Sessions covered practical topics such as data processing, advanced prompting methods, integration with external systems, and in-depth demonstrations of key functions to support real-world AI deployment by developers.
Looking ahead, GS E&C will launch the “GPT Champion Program” in early September in partnership with OpenAI. The initiative aims to cultivate in-house AI specialists and identify business use cases that address real-world challenges.
CEO Heo Yoon-hong has been a strong advocate for AI adoption across the organization. At the company’s first-quarter executive workshop, he underscored the urgency of digital transformation, stating: “AI is no longer a matter of choice, but of survival - adapting to and leading in a changing environment.”
